Join us for a weekend destination workshop that brings together Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and Science in a balanced, hands-on exploration of indigo. We’ll learn the art and chemistry of indigo dyeing, then carry those colours forward into weaving: transforming fibre into finished pieces grounded in both tradition and process.
7 – 9 pm, Friday Evening: Meet and Greet: Get to know your two presenters and share your hopes for the weekend. We have a tentative plan for the weekend but this can change depending on the experience of those who attend. If time permits, we will start our yellow and red dye pots
Saturday: This day is a full-on Indigo dye day. If you have never dyed with Indigo, prepared to be amazed. Weather permitting, we will do a nature walk and look at potential dye materials found in the area of the centre.
Sunday: Weaving day. You will have an opportunity to weave a small bag using the wool we have dyed.
